We have provided support to 14 innovative research teams that succeeded in a faculty-internal call funded by internal resources. The projects focus on strategic areas such as artificial intelligence, energy, inter-university cooperation, cybersecurity, telemedicine, and nuclear power, and will be implemented over the next two years.
This model of long-term support for innovation teams is a unique faculty initiative within Slovakia. Each supported team consists of at least 50% researchers under the age of 35, through which the faculty aims to bridge the experience of established scientists with the younger generation and systematically support generational continuity in research. Furthermore, these projects create a platform for launching and developing cooperation with industry, particularly through the involvement of industrial partners, technology transfer, and the practical application of research results.
"Supporting innovative teams is one of the key instruments for systematically developing important and promising research topics at our faculty, creating space for young scientists, and responding to current technological and societal challenges. I am pleased by the high quality of the submitted projects and their thematic diversity," stated Vladimír Kutiš, Dean of FEI STU.
