As part of their official visit to Slovakia, Professors Bluck and Tate from the Centre for Nuclear Engineering at Imperial College London attended a scheduled meeting at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (FEI STU). The session brought together experts from our faculty as well as colleagues from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (SjF STU).
The meeting was opened by the Dean of FEI STU, Professor Vladimír Kutiš. Following the opening, Vice-Dean Sojak (FEI STU) and Vice-Dean Pokusová (SjF STU) provided brief introductions of their respective faculties. The activities of the faculty's primary workplace dedicated to nuclear energy were presented by the Director of the Institute of Nuclear and Physical Engineering, Associate Professor Bokes.

Scientific Synergy and Industry Collaboration
The second half of the meeting focused on the presentation of research activities from both sides. Highlights included:
- Cutting-edge development of semiconductor ionizing radiation detectors.
- Current research initiatives in the field of nuclear energy.
- Key industrial partnerships with Slovenské elektrárne, VUJE, and JAVYS.

These topics were further discussed by experts from SjF STU (Professor Urban and Dr. Világi) and FEI STU (Professor Slugeň, Associate Professor Šagátová, and Associate Professor Vrban). Several common research areas were identified that piqued the interest of the Imperial College London representatives, showing great potential for future collaborative research. Additionally, the education and training of nuclear engineers was highlighted as a promising area for strategic cooperation.

A Tradition of Excellence
The long-standing tradition of educating nuclear engineers and the high-impact scientific work at FEI STU ensure that even a prestigious visit from an institution like Imperial College London can identify themes that are mutually engaging, attractive, and beneficial for both partners.
