Space engineering, the first Slovak student satellite FEIsat, and top experts. We invite the general public and all science enthusiasts to Space Night 2025, which will take place on October 7, 2025, from 17:00 to 22:00. This event, officially part of the worldwide World Space Week 2025, will bring meetings with key figures behind major space achievements.
When: Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 17:00 – 22:00
Where: FEI STU – Ilkovičova 3, Bratislava
Top guests from the world of space missions
Dr. Harris Iordanou
Professor at the University of Nicosia, who contributed to the development of the Canadarm robotic arm for the International Space Station (ISS). He will deliver an inspiring lecture “End-to-End Space Systems: From ISS Robotic Assembly to Satellite Manufacturing and Operations” about his involvement in key space technologies.
Ing. Ján Baláž, PhD.
A leading Slovak scientist who has contributed to seventeen space science missions. He collaborated, for example, on the ESA Rosetta mission – the first landing on a comet, BepiColombo – on its way to Mercury, and ESA JUICE – heading to Jupiter’s moons. His lecture promises a behind-the-scenes look at the most challenging space projects.
Axiom Space
A representative of the leading company in commercial crewed spaceflight and the developer of Axiom Station, the commercial successor to the ISS. They will present a vision of the future of private space travel and infrastructure.
Program
The program is divided into two parallel tracks, allowing participants to choose topics according to their interests. Workshops require registration, as capacity is limited.
Special attention will be given to the pioneering project FEIsat – the first Slovak student satellite, currently being developed at FEI STU.
