Computing Centre

The main task of the Computing Center (hereinafter referred to as the CC) is to provide services that ensure the smooth operation of the faculty computer network, online communication, and hardware support for the faculty's core activities. It is methodically managed by an authorized person with competence in the IT field. The organizational structure of the CC is determined, and employment relationships of its employees are decided by the Dean, based on the proposal of the Registrar.

Additional Activities

  • operates and manages the faculty network, including the wireless network
  • manages the central network node of FEI STU and the connection to the SANET academic public network
  • operates and maintains computers in the CC classrooms and at the Dean's Office (DEK) departments
  • manages classroom and faculty servers
  • manages the CCTV / camera system of FEI STU
  • provides technical and software support for managed devices
  • manages licensed software: Microsoft MSDN AA, Campus Agreement, Select Plus
  • ensures the operation of other technical equipment in the CC computer classrooms and the Dean's Office (DEK) departments
  • coordinates the building of the faculty computer network
  • organizes and approves the deployment of new application servers and network services within the faculty environment
  • provides expert consultancy to local network administrators
  • procures computing equipment and ensures its operation for the Dean's Office (DEK) departments
  • coordinates purchases of computing equipment at FEI STU
